Can Gluten Cause Eczema Flare-ups?
Question: Can Gluten Cause Eczema Flare-ups?
Answer: Gluten is a group of proteins found in wheat; two main proteins in gluten are gliadin and glutenin. These proteins are not good for humans. It is not only that you shouldn’t eat gluten because you have eczema; really, nobody should.
People with eczema, especially, should never eat gluten because there is a lot of indisputable evidence that gluten causes leaky gut and other problems linked to eczema. When you eat gluten while already having leaky gut, it can cause further damage and flare-ups.
Your eczema will definitely improve if you cut out gluten, but it is still just one piece of the full picture. I used to have a very severe case of eczema, in fact, so severe that I ended up in a hospital for a month from a skin infection that I got.
After getting out of the hospital, I cut out gluten, but my skin infections and eczema continued as usual. This is not because cutting out gluten isn’t beneficial, but because doing one thing isn’t enough to completely heal your gut, which will heal your skin.
A couple of months later, I started doing research beyond just cutting out gluten, and I discovered how other things can affect eczema and inflammation if your gut is unhealthy. Now, after years of suffering and severe eczema, I am completely eczema-free, and you can learn how I did that and how others are doing the same by joining The Ultimate Eczema Protocol (Join while still FREE).
