Best Moisturizers for Eczema and Psoriasis in 2026: 7 Products That Actually Help

Lineage grass-fed beef tallow, Manuka Health honey, and SheaMoisture extra virgin coconut oil jars on a pink background.

As somebody who suffered from eczema since I was a child a probably tried dozens of moisturizers for eczema and dry, itchy skin. To be completely honest, 95% of the moisturizers for eczema you will find in your life will be just a waste of money, and in some cases they will harm your skin and health even further.

I will show you a couple of products that I used that played a big role in my recovery process, and some of which I still use on a daily basis.

Keep in mind that no moisturizer will significantly improve eczema because they just cover up the skin instead of healing the root cause.

To significantly improve your condition, or maybe even completely heal as I did, you need to stop focusing on the skin and focus on the root cause, which, for most people, is gut damage. If you want to know how I healed my eczema and how others are doing the same, then consider The Ultimate Eczema Protocol. Here you will access all the resources that I collected over the years of research, and you will join a community of people who understand you.

Why Most Commercial Moisturizers For Eczema and Psoriasis Don’t Help?

Commercial moisturizers are not made to help you; they are just made to cover up the symptom that happens when something is already wrong.

In our case, we have red and dry skin, and instead of figuring out why that is and how to stop that from happening, these creams just put unnatural stuff on your skin that, in the best-case scenario, will do nothing and, in the worst-case scenario, will cause you more harm.

Also, these creams are filled with Synthetic fragrance and dyes, which are leading triggers for contact dermatitis flares. These dyes are hiding even in products for “sensitive skin”.

You may think that at least your skin is getting some vitamins from these moisturizers, but these are synthetic vitamins which are an inferior version to the real fat-soluble vitamins that you find in beef tallow and other moisturizers on this list.

Besides all of that, most drugstore lotions are mostly water; they feel nice going on but don’t actually lock moisture into the skin.

Why Healing Your Skin From the Outside Isn’t the Whole Story

As somebody who healed myself from a very bad case of eczema and saved myself from a life of suffering, if you can even call it life, I can guarantee you that moisturizers are only 10% of the full story. This is very much different from most advice that would tell you that moisturizers are practically 100% of the story, but this is far from the truth.

You see all these things that pop out on your skin all the redness, infections, itchiness, and dryness don’t just happen randmly our out of nowhere there are there because of reasons that are inside your body, not on your skin.

There is good evidence that suggests that leaky gut is the number one reason for inflammatory problems like eczema and psoriasis. Leaky gut can also cause depression and allergies, which were both things I had before starting this whole natural healing process.

Leaky gut is a term for gut damage that many people with eczema have without knowing what it is. Leaky gut gets created by years of Processed foods, grains, alcohol, antibiotics, and medication consumption. It occurs when the connections holding the cells together in your intestines (called tight junctions) start to produce more Zonulin and allow gaps between the cells.

When this happens, tight junctions stop holding the cells in your gut together closely, so foods that you eat every day can go into your bloodstream. This will cause inflammation and many health problems; this inflammation will eventually go onto your skin.

Of course, you should still go through the list and find a moisturizer that could benefit you the most because that is still a very important part of the puzzle, especially when you are just starting to heal.

Best Moisturizers for Eczema and Psoriasis

Lineage Provisions 100% Grass-Fed Beef Tallow: Best Overall

I truly believe that beef tallow should be on top of this list; tallow is extremely rich in fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K . These are all the vitamins that your skin needs and can’t function without.

Grass-fed beef tallow also contains CLA, which helps contain moisture in the skin, unlike most creams that just put water on you with some unhealthy chemicals.

Also, your skin’s chemistry is very similar to the chemistry of beef tallow.

All beef tallow is great for your skin, but Lineage Provisions beef tallow is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, which is very rare today. When beef tallow isnt grass fed than tallow will not have as many vitamins and nutrients as a grass-fed one will.

Also, this is the moisturizer that I use every day and the moisturizer that I used the most when I started recovering from atopic dermatitis.

California Gold Nutrition Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: Best Oil For Skin

Oils are usually very bad for your skin; for example, seed oils are one of the main reasons you have eczema and psoriasis in the first place. They cause leaky gut and are extremely inflammatory for the skin.

This coconut oil is USDA Certified Organic and cold-pressed with no hexane or pesticide residues, which matters because we are trying to avoid processing chemicals touching already-irritated skin.

The product is explicitly labeled suitable for external use on skin and hair, not just cooking, so you’re not using a food product with multiple ingredients for your skin; it is 100% organic coconut oil.

Also, it is a much healthier cooking alternative than margarine and seed oils; even though I recommend cooking on grass-fed beef tallow, this is a solid option as well.

Manuka Health Raw Manuka Honey UMF 16+ (MGO 573+) — Best For Infections

I used to struggle with eczema-caused infections a lot; one time it got so bad that I was in a hospital for a month.

If you are struggling with eczema-caused infections, you have my full guide here.

High-quality manuka honey like this one is the best thing you can use if you have infections, but it is also great for eczema and psoriasis in general.

This is one of the best manuka honeys on the market. Raw, unpasteurized, monofloral manuka honey sourced and certified in New Zealand, with a guaranteed MGO content of at least 573 mg/kg.

That high MGO concentration is what makes manuka so powerful against infections and makes it so effective for skin healing.

Eczema Honey Soothing Facial Cream: Best for Sensitive Facial Skin

Your face usually has the most sensitive skin on the body; that is especially true for people with eczema, which is the reason why it is good to have a separate cream for it.

This cream is centered on colloidal oatmeal, honey, and aloe vera juice for hydration, with rosehip seed oil added to support cell turnover, which is especially useful if scratching has left behind rough texture or scarring on your face.

Blueberry, green tea, and kelp extracts bring antioxidant support into the mix without relying on synthetic fragrance and vitamins.

Like all creams from Eczema Honey, this cream holds the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance and has been dermatologist patch-tested for safety.

Eczema Honey Original Skin-Soothing Cream

Even though I am usually not a fan of using moisturizers with multiple ingredients, this is a huge exception; this product has many anti-inflammatory compounds and ingredients.

The active ingredient is 1.0% colloidal oatmeal, backed by organic honey, beeswax, organic olive oil, almond oil, organic sunflower oil, and aloe vera juice, rounding out the formula.

Just like other eczema honey products, it carries the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance and has gone through a dermatologist-reviewed clinical safety patch test, which is a meaningfully higher bar than most drugstore creams.

Reviewers consistently mention it working on both kids’ and adults’ eczema, including cases where this cream helped more than corticosteroids.

White Oak Pastures Tallow Moisturizer (Fragrance-Free): Beef Tallow Alternative

This is a great alternative to the lineage beef tallow product. White Oak gives multiple options when it comes to beef tallow, but I choose this one because it is fragrance-free.

I think it is important that it is fragrance-free because it drops the essential oil entirely, leaving you with distilled water, apricot kernel oil, grass-fed beef tallow, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, and Optiphen as a preservative.

If you think that those things are not a problem, then this could be a good fit for you, but if some of these ingredients bother you, then you should definitely get the pure beef tallow from Lineage.

It is also worth noting that this product is made on-farm in small batches, so if traceability and knowing exactly where your skincare comes from matters to you as much as it matters to me, you should like that.

Heritage Store Organic Castor Oil

For the thick, stubborn patches that laugh off regular lotion, this is the one that you may want to try. Castor oil is dense and occlusive enough to actually sit on the skin and hold moisture in while you sleep, which is what people with skin problems like us need because our skin is not very good at holding moisture in.

Heritage castor oil is Certified Organic through CCOF, cold-pressed, and hexane-free, with a single ingredient on the label, which is organic castor oil

The most important part is its thickness, which is important because thin, water-based lotions can’t compete with castor oil’s ability to slow water loss on cracked or thickened skin.

Conclusion

As somebody who has had eczema my whole life, I tried dozens of different creams and moisturizers through my journey; only now do I know that most creams are not made to help you but just to cover up the symptoms that show on your skin because of inner problems. Many of these commercial creams are also filled with synthetic vitamins, fragrances, and dyes that can potentially make your skin even worse, and all of that is without mentioning how expensive and overpriced they are.

The alternatives to all of this are the products that I mentioned on the list, which are grass-fed beef tallow, coconut oil, manuka honey, and castor oil from the best brands in the world.

My top pick for everybody is Linage Provisions 100% grass-fed beef tallow because it is extremely rich in fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. Grass-fed beef tallow also contains CLA, which helps contain moisture in the skin, unlike most creams that just put water on you with some unhealthy chemicals.
