Can Stress Cause Eczema Flare-ups?
Question: Can Stress Cause Eczema Flare-ups?
Answer: Yes, stress can cause eczema flare-ups for multiple reasons. Most people with eczema flare up after experiencing stress, which leads to more eczema, which leads to more stress; this creates a negative cycle that is very hard to get out of.
Also, stress causes an immune reaction, which leads to inflammation and cortisol release. This cortisol release will make it much harder to fall asleep, which is very important for eczema.
Stress weakens the skin barrier, the skin’s ability to retain moisture and its ability to protect itself from allergens and other triggers.
There is also strong evidence that stress disrupts gut health and creates leaky gut, which, in my opinion, is the root cause of eczema.
When I had a very severe case of eczema, I was going through a lot of stress, and I completely understand you if you are going through the same. People always told me not to stress, but that is not possible when you are experiencing constant pain every single moment of your life. Also, other problems in life just add to an already horrible situation.
The important thing that you should know is that all of these things are connected. When you fix your gut, both eczema and stress will go away. If you want to know how I healed from a very severe case of eczema and how others are doing the same through my example, join The Ultimate Eczema Protocol.
